Stockport had the early chances and it was a shot from Stockport’s Pilkington that had his name sake to be on his toes and save in the magpie’s goal.

Notts County took the lead in the 9th minute in when Edwards got his first of the season.

Richard Butcher's free kick  was played into the area and Edwards touch the ball in but the Stockport keeper and manager were not happy saying the ball had not crossed the line.

Stockport County were back on level terms in the 22nd minute when Rowe scored.

Jamie Smith played the ball to Pilkington, who cut the ball back for Rowe to shot and score.

After the two goals the match was not a great event and the next goal mouth action was a free kick by Stockport just before half time which was saved by the Notts keeper Pilkington.

Half time: Stockport County 1-1 Notts County

The second half was really a non event, this could have been down to the pitch or just the way Notts did not give much away to their opponents.

Proudlock and McSweeny had chances for the home side but non bothered the Notts keeper that much.

Strachan had a shot from the edge of the box with 20 minutes to go that was about the only real chance the magpies had in the second half.

Full time: Stockport County 1-1 Notts County
