Full Report
Notts had the brighter start and it was on-loan striker Danny Crow that went close first.
Russell Hoult played a long ball down field that Crow beat the keeper to but unfortunately the ball went the wrong side of the post.
It was Crow that again had a good chance but this time he put his effort over the bar after 23 minutes.
Notts top scorer Richard Butcher forced the away side’s keeper into a good save with a fine shot.
On 28 minutes Notts went in front after fine work from Corden beating a couple of players then when he played the ball in Jarvis got a touch to Johnson who put the magpies ahead.
Rochdale did have a couple of efforts but they did not bother Hoult in the Notts goal
Half time: Notts County 1-0 Rochdale
Edwards did not return for the second half after injuring his shin in the first half.
So Cannoville came on with Tann going to partner Johnson.
The second half was mainly one way traffic with the away side having most of the possession.
Only some fine defending in a team effort was keeping Notts in the game.
Johnson was to have another say in this match when Hoult was beaten only some fine on the line defending by the Derby player cleared the ball for the expense of a corner.
Even the 4 minutes that the official found to add on at the end could not put a damper on a fine day for the magpies.
Full time: Notts County 1-0 Rochdale
