Match Report

Morecambe could of gone ahead in the tenth minute, when a corner came across and it was only some fine keeping by Pilkington that kept the scores level.

The Notts keeper grabbed the ball on the line, some Morecambe players appealed for a goal but the Notts keeper played on.

Notts went straight up the other end of the field and a fine cross from Parkinson was misjudged by the Morecambe keeper.

This left Sam with an open goal just a few yards out, but to the amazement of everyone he put the header wide when it looked easier to score.

Notts fell behind on thirty-five minutes when a free kick fell to Twiss who give the visitors a shock lead.

Half Time: Notts County 0-1 Morecambe

Morecambe had a fantastic chance to double the lead early in the second half but when Thompson found himself clear on goal but fired wide of Pilkington’s goal.

Notts maybe should have had a penalty when a fine run from Mayo saw him brought down in the box, but for some strange reason the Referee played on to the amazement of the crowd.

With time running out you guessed it up popped Butcher again. The midfielder player headed in a Mayo cross to give the magpies a point.
