Charlies Back
Notts County Football Club today announced that former Notts County player Ian"Charlie"McParland is the new first Team Manager.
"Charlie" Takes over straight away with Mansfield this weekend to be his first match in charge.
Ian has been given a two-year contract at Meadow Lane and was the choice of most of the fans.
In his playing day Ian signed for Notts in 1980 and left in 1989, in that time he scored 90 goals in 267 appearances for the Magpies.
His most famous Notts goal all of us will remember is the winner in the final game of 82-83 season against Manchester United in a 3-2 win for Notts.
Ian in 2006 was appointed Nottingham Forest manager with Frank Barlow after Gary Megson left the club and somehow he nearly made the play-offs winning 8,drawing 1 and losing 4 in his short time in charge at the City Ground.
Hopefully now Charlie’s back the fans that went awol during the Thompson reign will come back and give Ian there total support and get behind the team.
Ian may be on the look out for an assistant after John Gannon left the club today.
The Youpies web site wishes Ian every success in his new role at Meadow Lane.
More to follow on this soon.
