Full Report

Notts played some nice football in the first half and most of this was played round new boy Danny Crow.

Notts had a fantastic chance early on but Bury keeper made a double save, first from a Danny Crow shot and then from the rebound to stop Weir-Daley scoring turning the ball away for a corner.

Bury only had two chances on target in the first half and the first of these was a Glynn Hurst header on 31 minutes but the ref blew for a push on a Notts defender.

Notts did not learn from this and four minutes later, Bury went in front from a powerful shot from Steve Haslam giving the Notts keeper Pilkington no chance at all.

Half Time Notts County 0-1 Bury

Notts were awarded a penalty on 64 minutes when the ref penalised a Bury defender for handball penalty.

Before the penalty could be taken a stretcher was called for new boy Danny Crow who was reported to have a metatarsal injury and could be out for around two months.

Danny received a standing ovation from the Meadow Lane faithful on his journey to the players tunnel.

The penalty was now ready to be taken and up stepped Neil MacKenzie who sent the keeper the wrong way.

Notts gave the ball away to easy three minutes after getting back on level terms and were punished when Paul Scott scored to start chants of “Thommo out” to be sung by the ever-decreasing Meadow Lane faithful.

The chants were to get louder when on 83 minutes Sam was coming on for it looked like Dudfield but when the Notts striker reached the sidelines he was sent back on and Sam then came on to replace Weir-Daley.

This started more chanting aimed at the Notts manager of “You don’t know what you’re doing

With time running out Adam Tann gave away a penalty and Nicky Adams made it 3-1 from the spot.
