Notts County 3-1 Lincoln

In a game that Notts had to win to keep their play-off chances alive they came out the traps flying and after just over a minute Jay Smith got the ball and with a superb volley put the Magpie ahead to the delight of the home crowd.
Lincoln came back into the game and former Notts player Mark Stallard twice went close for but just could not beat Kevin Pilkington in the Notts goal.
Lincoln also went close towards the end of the half when Jeff Hughes hit a post for the visitors.
The match was about to change and on 41 minutes Lincoln striker Jamie Forrester was sent off for an incident with Notts player Austin McCann off the ball.
On the stoke of half time Notts striker Jason Lee headed against the bar which could of gone over but just to make sure the Notts man dived in with his head to get his 13th league goal of the season.

Notts began the second half where they left off in the first half with some fine football and on 61 minutes Silk crossed the ball for the on coming Notts pair of Parkinson and Dudfield and it was Dudfield who got the final touch to give the magpies a 3-0 lead.
Notts were still playing some fine football and in a late move Parkinson, Mendes and Dudfield somehow missed a chance when it looked easier to score.
With a minute to go the Lincoln did get a goal back through Weir-Daley when from a few yards out the striker could not miss and slotted the ball under the Notts keeper.
The match was entering stoppage time a Notts player seem to handle the ball and a penalty was awarded.
This was not going to be Lincoln’s day because Pilkington superbly saved the effort diving low to his left, and he also manages to get up in time to block the on-rushing Lincoln player.
